Maufrais was born out of the desire to honor the unique shopping experience that Austin had been known for in the past. It was built to be an interaction between customer, shaper, and high quality product that felt as fun and approachable as the average Texan. We intended it to be more a venture into hospitality than retail and luckily that’s how it’s been received.

 

During a custom shaping, customers are welcomed by a friendly and genuine staff, fitted into a high quality fur felt hat, and guided through the process of making it their own with the help of endless forms the hat can take. 

We take pride in our selection of highly curated accessories that offer another layer of customization and styling. The end result is something that weaves great interactions, beautiful materials, a rich history of western culture, and a pleasant environment together into the form of a cowboy hat.
